Dissolvable plugs for floating perforated liner

Designed for temporary blocking of filter openings. Plugs allow to circulate through the shoe during RIH and to provide pressure tests.

Plugs have a predeterminated dissolution rate, which is selected depending on the customer’s requirements. A distinctive feature is that the process begins only when the liner fully immersed in the fluid. Do not dissolve in OBM. Dissolve at different rates in WBM (depending on the formulation and composition of the WBM). Dissolve at different rates in completion fluids (depending on salt content).

Withstanding differential pressure: individually selected according to the design of the customer’s equipment.
Plug geometry: from 8 mm in diameter.
Dissolution midium: fracturing gel, formation fluid, completion fluid.
Operating temperature: up to 130°C.
Dissolution rate: from 20 to 700 mg/cm²/hour (3% KCl, 90°C).
For OBM, the plug dissolution process begins after the replacement of the DF by completion or wellbore fluid, a prerequisite is the presence of salts in the solution. The dissolution rate depends on the required time to maintain the insulating properties and the temperature of the formation. For WBM, the dissolution process begins during the tripping process and, depending ot the requirements, takes from 3 to 12 days.
Ability to circulate through the shoe.
Ability to carry out pressure testing.
Saving of well construction time by reducing round trip time.
Do not require plugs cutting operations as in the case of shear plugs.
